Good afternoon. It's that time again, so here is your friendly reminder of
the upcoming JUG meeting this Tuesday, September 11.
There are a few things I would like to bring to your attention. The first,
as some have likely already noticed, we have updated our web site. You can
read all about it here http://okcjug.org/content/view/25/1/, including the
rationale behind the switch as well as the technology choice. The steering
committee feels (and hopes) that this will better serve the needs of the OKC
Java community. To that end, as the article above points out, based on
popular demand, we now have RSS feeds for news, job postings, etc. You can
see and subscribe to all of our feeds from here:
http://okcjug.org/content/view/18/32/.
Finally, this month, Brett Schuchert will be discussing Java concurrency in
both the lunch and evening sessions, as well as the Hello Java session at
6:00pm. The Hello Java session will assume that you are new to concurrency
and walk through it in simple terms. The main sessions will assume a
familiarity with concurrency and delve deeper into the difficult parts of
concurrency. So, regardless of your experience level, there will be
something in these sessions for you. For detailed information, including
session goals, point your browser here: http://okcjug.org/content/view/23/1/
IMPORTANT NOTE: Our lunch meeting location has changed. Please see the
meeting agenda link above for the address and a link to the map.
If you have any comments or questions, feel free to ask here. We hope to
see everyone this Tuesday.
