Subject: Tulsa Java Developers / Dec 3rd - Visual Studio 2008 InstallFest / Holiday Party!

This is an e-mail from 'Tulsa Java Developers'

Message:
Please attend our special event - Visual Studio 2008 InstallFest / Holiday Party on Monday, December 3rd, 2007 - 6pm to ....

It sounded like a lot of you were interested in attending at our last JUG meeting! If you're not interested in the free Visual Studio 2008 Pro - just show up and don't worry about RSVPing below -- just email me at president at tulsajava.com so I can get a head count for food.

UPDATE! Seating is limited! 150 Copies will be mailed to those who register in advance using the following link and attend:
http://msevents.microsoft.com/CUI/EventDetail.aspx?EventID=1032360634&Culture=en-US

We will have a waiting list to account for no-shows and some of those who have RSVP'd have access to MSDN subscription and may be willing to allow some one else to get their copy -- so don't despair!

Register now! Since everyone is invited and can attend, we already have folks coming from NWADNUG and OKCPro.NET!

If you attend AND install Visual Studio 2008 trial edition(installation requirement has been waived, but you must register via link above) - you will receive via snail mail your free physical copy of Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition!

Spread the word though: Facebook | Upcoming.Yahoo.com | Twitter | TulsaDNUG

Lastly, please make sure that you blog about the events using the Technorati tag “InstallFest” and encourage others to blog as well. Lets see how many hits we can get on Technorati for the tag!

To celebrate the upcoming RTM of Visual Studio 2008, we're going to host a few "InstallFest" parties in conjunction with some of our local user groups. These parties will feature food, drink, XBOX 360 and the opportunity for you to install Visual Studio 2008 right after it RTMs. AND, as a special incentive to "get your VS on", for those of you that bring your computers to the party and install VS08 right there with us, we'll send you a FREE copy of Visual Studio 2008 Professional in the mail (after the packaging is done, and we actually have something to send you).

Here's a list of dates/times/locations for the upcoming events:

Dec 3rd - Tulsa, OK @ OSU Tulsa with the TulsaDevelopers.NET

Dec 5th - Dallas, TX @ Intuit Headquarters with the NDDNUG

Dec 13th - Houston, TX @ Microsoft Office with HDNUG and NHDNUG

The parties will be a combination User Group end-of-the-year party and a happenin' InstallFest - add Xbox 360s to the mix, and these parties are destined to become the geek event of the year :-)

Check back here or Chris Koenig's Blog and David Walker's Blog often for more information on these events. I'll be posting registration links soon as well as additional information about the events.

SO - clear your calendars and get ready for Visual Studio 2008!
