Sorry I didn't send this out sooner.
FT/Marc Hill is looking for people to do mock interviews, talk to the class
about what it's like to work in IT... etc...
If you are interested in helping let me know:
Francis Tuttle school ends May 20. I have 3 graduating students who will be
seeking employment in June. They have attended job readiness workshops,
created resumes/cover letters, and had a mock non-technical interview. As
final preparation I'd like for them to experience a mock technical
interview. I'm looking for volunteers to conduct these 3 interviews.
I welcome suggestions. Here is what I have in mind:
This needs to be scheduled the week 5/12-5/16 during class hours,
basically 8:00
AM until 3:00 PM. They can travel to your location or you may use Francis
Tuttle facilities. Ideally, I'd like for you contact them about a
fictitious (or real) entry level IT position and have them respond
appropriately (electronically) with a cover letter and resume. After that,
an interview may be scheduled and held.
Additionally, these folks are looking for any information about what it's
like to work in IT and what will be expected of them when they show up the
first day on the job. Tyler Holbrook has volunteered to visit the class on
May 15 and discuss the subject. Thanks, again Tyler. It would be a good
complement if they were to job shadow for half a day. Any volunteers for
that?
Thanks for all your help this year... and wait until you hear about the
students coming in August! WOW!
