Before I get buried in JUG notes, I feel a clarification is needed regarding the cancellation of July's lunch meeting. After reading back my email, I'm afraid it may have come across as unfairly harsh on Francis Tuttle. I'll not go over all the details, but the long and short of it is that we waited too long to confirm the room. There was a lost email (most of the time, junk filters are great ;), but we just failed to follow up as early as we should have on the reservation. So, it was our fault for not being proactive enough, and not Francis Tuttle's, and that's all we'll say on the topic.
<br><br>Moving on, our next meeting will be on August 14th, where Brandon Burk will cover Drools (<a href="http://labs.jboss.com/jbossrules/">http://labs.jboss.com/jbossrules/</a>). We <span style="font-style: italic;">will
</span> have our normal lunch and evening meetings. The Google calendar (<a href="http://tinyurl.com/35ktej">http://tinyurl.com/35ktej</a>) has been updated to show these meetings, so if you subscribe to the feed, you should have them on your calendar.
<br><br>Our next Steering Committee meeting will be on July 31st at the Java Dave's at Reno and Meridian (<a href="http://tinyurl.com/yo2lzo">http://tinyurl.com/yo2lzo</a>). The time is TBD, but will likely be about 11:30. It has been requested that we have the meetings at lunch, as that will make it easier for more people to attend, so we're going to try that out this month. Java Dave's has a nice, large area in the back (assuming we get there early enough to claim it), as well as a nice selection of sandwiches, etc. All are welcome to attend and give input and feedback.
<br><br>If anyone is interested in giving a presentation, whether it's just the lunch presentation, the evening presentation, a Hello Java, or some combination of those, please don't be shy. We have slots open later in the fall, and would love to have some new presenters.
