<html><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; ">You are correct, Brian. My apologies for the late email (despite repeated reminders from Brian :).<div><br></div><div>We are meeting tomorrow, though this meeting will be a bit different. We (the Steering Committee) have some announcements to make regarding the JUG that we'd like to discuss. While they may not affect the membership directly, the group belongs to all of us, so we (the SC :) like to keep everyone up-to-date. </div><div><br></div><div>Furthermore, we won't have a full presentation tomorrow. As Brian noted, we are going to have a short introduction to git, a distributed version control system (similar to Mercurial or bazaar, if you're familiar with those). We'll see what it is from very high-level, then have a short hands on lab to play with it some. </div><div><br></div><div>After the lab, we'll open up the rest of the time for networking. One of the purposes of the JUG is to meet other people -- fellow developers, project managers, recruiters, etc. Whether it's finding help for a tough issue at the office, finding a new job, or just socially talking shop, it's difficult to understate the importance of this part of the JUG, yet it's what we do the poorest, given our time constraints. For that reason, we want to give everyone time to hang out and put faces to names if desired, or to head back to the office early.</div><div><br></div><div>It should be a good time. We hope to see you there!</div><div><br><div><div>On Jan 12, 2009, at 6:38 AM, Brian Sheldon wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><blockquote type="cite">I'm pretty sure we're having a meeting tomorrow.
