<html><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; ">The future of Swing was briefly discussed at last week's meeting. As I noted there, I'm not really in the loop on what's going on in the Swing world, but I sort of follow these things as an interested observer. At any rate, the article discussed was Kirill Grouchnikov's Blog "Sun setting down on the core Swing." As damning as that may sound, it was written in November of last year, and there's been much discussion since then (some dealing specifically with Kirill's claims, though I haven't taken the time to track those down again). In Java Posse episode #244 (which, incidentally, is now without anyone from Google -- they've all moved to new companies), they discuss the Swing 2.0 imbroglio and link to these two articles, which I found helpful and interesting:<div><br></div><div><a href="http://blogs.sun.com/theplanetarium/entry/the_future_of_swing">http://blogs.sun.com/theplanetarium/entry/the_future_of_swing</a></div><div><a href="http://elliotth.blogspot.com/2009/02/swing-2-pissing-in-wind.html">http://elliotth.blogspot.com/2009/02/swing-2-pissing-in-wind.html</a></div><div><br></div><div>Of course, that doesn't settle the matter, but it does provide some interesting data points.<br><div><b><br></b><div apple-content-edited="true"> <div style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><div><div style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><div style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><div><div>Jason Lee, SCJP</div><div>Senior Java Developer, Sun Microsystems</div><div>Mojarra and Mojarra Scales Dev Team</div><div><a href="https://mojarra.dev.java.net">https://mojarra.dev.java.net</a></div><div><a href="https://scales.dev.java.net">https://scales.dev.java.net</a></div><div><a href="http://blogs.steeplesoft.com">http://blogs.steeplesoft.com</a></div><div><br></div></div></div></div></div></div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"> </div><br></div></div></body></html>
