[Steering Committee] Logo Ideas

I think the logo's simplicity is great. Simple is good. However, it's so
simple it's hard to tell whether it's a cup of coffee or a bowl of soup.
Add a handle and that's fixed.
I agree about it being a bit too froo-froo. Really it's just the wisps that
contribute to that, though. If they didn't curl so sharply, and maybe
intertwined a little bit it might look better.
I also like the idea of the logo featuring three colors especially when two
of them are different values on the grayscale. So the ones with the red cup
get my vote out of the ones you attached.
Now, having said all of that, if you replace the cup/bowl with a Duke
similar to this one <
http://hritcu.files.wordpress.com/2006/11/dukewithhelmet.jpg>, I think it
would look really good. It gets rid of the coffee theme and is still a very
concise logo.
