Thanks Mitch and hi all. I think Mitch has it just right.
My interests are:
- promoting the Strange Loop conference (tentatively Oct. 14-15, 2010)
- speaking - I enjoy doing this and I'm always looking for someplace new to talk
- finding possible speakers for the conference. CFP will probably open in May and close end of July.
If you are interested, then sometime in May-July timeframe would probably be good. I'd be happy to brainstorm possible topics - either from stuff I've already done that Mitch linked to or on other topics of interest (Terracotta, Ehcache, concurrency, languages, semantic web, etc).
Additionally, I also run the St. Louis Lambda Lounge group for functional and dynamic languages (http://lambdalounge.org) and we are always looking for good speakers if someone was willing to make the trek to St. Louis. We do have some sponsorship such that we could reimburse some or all travel for the right talk. You can check out the archive and schedule there if you happen to know anyone that might be interested.
Thanks,
Alex
