LOL, yeah, sure Java is in the cloud - after all Oracle is a cloud
provider, right?  JK

I meant serveless as you pointed out.  However, besides the terrible
startup/warmup issue and the JVM memory footprint to just boot, which
GraalVM is addressing there's still the issue of memory density, which
project Valhalla (proposed in 2014! 😱) is trying to solve by introducing
value types and generics specialization.  And then the whole thing about
Threads vs Fibers... I guess this to mean means there's still a lot to do
in the ecosystem to be optimized for serverless execution.

For TS type system, lots of things (some very simple) that you can still
not do in java.  Like union types, discriminating types, conditional types,
keyof types, type guards, ...
