OK. We have notified the winners drawn post-meeting for the 2 GOSS passes Jay Zimmeran has kindly donated. Do we want to do that same for IDEA? I can go either way. It may be harder to pull off, since some either have it or don't want it.

We seem to be a victim of our own success. We've outgrown our normal room, and even the new "bigger" one they gave us was pretty full, even had we filled in the middle. We need to give some serious thought on what to do. Here are some ideas, in no particular order and not necessarily with any sort of endorsement:

Find a bigger room

Change locations (Ryan has offered Valtech's soon-to-be-completed location, but that's downtown and poses its own unique problems)

Cap attendance at n per meeting

Make the evening session more appealing, thereby driving more people to that session (e.g., do the give-aways in the evening)

Hopefully, someone will have more ideas. We need to do something, but I'm not sure what it should be.

Speaking of the evening meeting, a thought: Our current plan is to use the evening meeting to do sort of a tutoring session, with the presentation being done only at lunch, given the generally vastly lower attendance at night. While I can see the appeal, logistically, of the lunch session, I think it works against us and our speaker, in that we are very strictly limited in our time. By the time we get things organized (including getting into the room ;), people get food and settled, we may only have 45-50 minutes for the speaker to present and take questions. Anyone who has presented knows how little time that can be. With all of that said, should we swing back toward an evening (only?) session, or do we just suck it up at lunch? Some of the comments from the April session wanted more code and more depth, which just isn't that easy given our time constraints. What does everyone think?

With April done, we can being to look toward May, where we have Brett speaking.

Brian, I think you said we have a sponsor for May? Do I remember that right? If so, who is it?

Ryan, we may want to verify room reservations. We had an issue Tuesday night with our assigned room (311) being assigned to someone else. We managed to find and empty one, but it was a bit awkward dragging our out-of-town guest from room to room. :P

Brett, do you have a title and abstract ready for your presentation? I'm going to be updating the site this morning, and I'd like to get that posted and start spreading the word.

That's it for now, I think, but I can't promise there won't be another email. :) The work never ends! :P
