Hey guys,

I found this while at *work* today: http://www.grouptweet.com/ and asked the venerable Jason D. Lee if he thought it would be a good idea for us to use for the jug twitter feed, he said sure after a quick security check and so here is the scoop:

With this service the SC can now update the OKCJUG twitter feed simply by sending a direct message to okcjug (i.e 'd okcjug my profound message' where 'my profound message' is your profound message that you want to share with the followers of OKCJUG on twitter). GroupTweet will pick up that DM and post it as an update to OKCJUG twitter timeline with mention of the poster.

to show an example since we're geeks and we love examples, I sent this DM to okcjug:
d okcjug any suggestions for a simple desktop app to be built during the April presentation using Groovy/Griffon?

and GroupTweet posted that to OKCJUG account as:
via @codeles: any suggestions for a simple desktop app to be built during the April presentation using Groovy/Griffon?

I didn't have to log in as OKCJUG, just sent it from my twitter account. Any person wanting to post to the okcjug feed will have to be followed by OKCJUG, and I'm guessing that will always need approval of the SC or senior officials from said C.

any questions just let me know.
regards
Les

Les Martin
http://gangof10.blogspot.com
